IThrive Ghana Lead Health Walk to Promote Wellness in Accra

ACCRA, GHANA: On Saturday, April 25, 2026, iThrive Ghana in partnership with the Women Media and Change (WOMEC), organized a health walk in Accra to promote healthy living and preventive healthcare. The event brought together health advocates, professionals, media practitioners, and community members in a shared effort to encourage better health practices and raise awareness on the importance of prioritizing personal wellbeing.

The walk began and ended at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate Park, with participants walking through surrounding communities while engaging the public with messages on the importance of regular exercise, balanced lifestyles, and routine health checks. The activity created visibility and sparked conversations around the need for individuals to take proactive steps toward maintaining their health.

The initiative raised awareness about non communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity, which continue to pose a growing public health concern in Ghana. Emphasis was placed on the role of simple and consistent lifestyle choices in preventing these conditions and improving overall quality of life. WOMEC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting public health awareness and community engagement through advocacy and strategic partnerships. The organization encouraged Ghanaians to adopt consistent healthy habits, noting that small and deliberate actions can lead to improved long term health outcomes.
