Media Training & Advocacy

Women Media and Change (WOMEC) offers strategic communication training for journalists, advocates, women and young girls to use the media to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women.

WOMEC has trained several journalists in the West African Sub Region on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) issues under the Women, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Wellbeing (WNCAW) Project. The trainings are scheduled to take place in five (5) West African Countries including: Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone, La Cote D’Ivoire and Burkina Faso. Trainings have been held in Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone and La Cote D’Ivoire.

The WNCAW project is made up of:

  • A Consortium for Mothers, Children, Adolescents and Health Policy and Systems Strengthening (COMCAHPSS)
  • Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights (ARHR)
  • Women, Media and Change (WOMEC)
  • The West Africa Health Organisation (WAHO)
